Other books by Martin

I've only read Windhaven, a collaboration with Lisa Tuttle, and Fevre Dream. Windhaven was a so-so sci-fantasy. Fevre Dream I'd highly recommend, an engrossing tale about vampires and steamboats in the American south. Possibly the best vampire book I've ever read.

I enjoyed the two Hedge Knight books in audio version. Not great, but will mesh with the Ice and Fire stuff you've read.

Yep, Fevre Dream is awesome. I picked up The Armageddon Rag last week and hope to get round to it soon.

The Dying of the Light was good. Most of his other work is in the form of short stories, a great collection of which can be found in Dreamsongs vol.1 and 2. It includes commentaries by GRRM on various stages of his career and is an excellent read.

"Dying of the light is good", the collection "A song for Lyra" is better but my favourite Martin SF book is "Tuf voyaging".*

*Tuf may have two fs and Lyra may be Lya spelling is not my strong point and I have to dash!

although GRRM is only one of the writers and the editor of the books, the Wild Card series is a fantastic read.

good luck finding them though

I hear that Tor may reprint the older books in the series and a UK publisher may take on Wild Cards. There's also a been renewed interest in a movie or TV version of the series. Oddly and almost certainly coincidentally, this has occurred since the success of Heroes ;)
