Garth Nix - Abhorsen

I've read a bunch of posts here looking for fodder and I haven't seen Garth mentioned.

A typical trilogy with the first book being the best. It sorta reminds me of a dark comic book.

I generally like his work, though the seventh tower series is an exception.

I do like his work. The Abhorsen trilogy was the first of his books that I read. They are dark and pretty well written. Different from the many cheery, chirpy books for young people.

i liked the trilogy immensely, although i've been too busy reading other things to try any of his other works...

I wouldn't be too hasty. I tried one of the other books maybe Grim Monday? And it sucked and I never finished or regretted doing so. If you all tell me different maybe I'll change my mind but that was my quick impression.

Sometimes it is hard to phathom that an author can write awesome books and sucky ones like someone off of the street.

I do like other people's descriptions of the works. How I describe things and what others think are often vastly different.
