Hello, I'm trying to find the title of a book series I lost track of ages ago (mid to late 90s). I think it was more of a teens type book series, as I remember finding it in that section when I was well...a teen. I'm looking to see if the series was finished, I really liked it at the time and wanted to finish it now.
I don't remember much about it, other than the overall plot. It started off about this group of teens, and I don't remember if one of them or all of them at first discovered this way to travel into this alternate dimension of gods from Norse/Greek/Roman and maybe Asian(as it seemed to start adding in from I wanna say was Chinese mythology? when I had lost track of it) mythology. In the book, as society advanced and people stopped believing in the Odin and Zeus and the like, the gods created this dimension for them to exist in as well as the mythological creatures and beings. The teens get stuck there while something is going around killing these creatures and gods, and also find themselves unable to go back home. I want to say some alien race was doing it, but I don't properly remember.
There's only a couple scenes I remember, one when the teens are in this place with vikings (celebration hall maybe) one of the female teens sings the song "Killing Me Softly" by the Fugees and it makes the vikings cry (yea rather hokey).
The other is when they're in this big hall or something, and this angel or winged-messanger is like flayed alive by the thing or race killing the gods and it one of the male teens who had become good friends with him was really hit hard by his death.
That's about it, hopefully someone else has heard of it or seen it, or even read it. Any help I would greatly appreciate, it's been driving me nuts for months now. Thank you!
