I've been pondering this question but am no closer to the solution

I know that the Midkemian year is somewhat shorter than our Earth year; around 201 days (please correct me!). Does Feist then use this year for his timescales and ages or does he use the traditional Earth year?

Been a while but finally found them all:

Period Days
Banapis 1

Kimia 18

Rodec 15

Staphron 10

Natinica 12

Wochem 45

Mid-Winter 1

Nuna 11

Agaeis 37
Yamiev 11
Dzanin 39

Total Days 200
30 summer days, 66 autumn days, 41 winter days and 61 spring days

:)

I seem to remember Feist saying he uses the traditional Earth year, presumably because it is unnecessarily confusing otherwise (certainly the character's reported ages compared to their maturity matches what we'd expect with 365-ish day years not 200-day ones). I think there are quite a few aspects of worldbuilding from the original Midkemia RPG that Feist ignores.

I think so as well. Looking at the ages, they would nearly be twice as old as they would be which makes the average death age very small. Pug and Tomas would be about 6 at the start of Magician :D and Tully, the very old man, would die about 45. Not very old really

In medieval times getting to 45 would have made you old, I think, life expectancy wasn't anywhere near what it is now. Pug and Tomas obviously aren't 6 years old, though.
