Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and also new to novel writing.

I have three novels in the pipeline, first finished, second polishing and the third is on the way. Like thousands of others, I have a self belief in my abilities but I am not short sighted when it comes to my limits. I believe that the whole reason I write is to improve myself, get some satisfaction and above all else, ENJOY it!! Of course, I would like to get published, I know someone who has had nine of her books published in the fantasy genre and she never loses sight of how lucky she is, but the day I don’t enjoy what I'm doing is the day I stop. I have a total of twelve books to write and I intend to fully enjoy each one! I have sent the first 6 chapters (To he who must not be named) just to test the water and will one day get a professional (Paid for) opinion/edit, when I can save up the money that is. I think those of you out there who are published are not lucky but brilliant! I salute you all.

I have to work on my synopsis, I find it very hard as a fledgling writer, so darn boring, trying to make it a page turner in just a few pages is a challenge but I even love to try that!

Anyway enough about me, lets hear about you guys, where are you all at in your work?

:)

Welcome, Pete Rebb!
No, no, no! no n00bs here - just converts!:D

Ah yes good point. I once said to a friend "I want to be a writer." He said, "You already are, just not a published one yet." :)

Thanks for your welcome!

Hi Pete Rebb

I'm also a writer,i just finished a duocentology(a 200 part serial)

It's called 'a Publisher's Nightmare',and it's horror in the best Stephen King tradition.
The covers are all painted by me,which adds greatly to the horror.
In it I portray the woes of a man trying to write a short story.
Each part is about 400 plus pages by the way.
I got glowing reviews from the Dyslectic Society, and the Braille Library Union.
Because I sprinkle my books with thorium dust,i always get glowing reviewers.
all of you nay be glad to learn that my muse Edith is back and in full swing.
I've built a roundabout for her too,her swinging drives me nuts,I keep ducking.
You' ll also be glad to lean that more of my posts will be done by Jeannie, but she has the annoying habit to put in "ELEMERCIALS".
she is part of the Pachyderms in Power Movement, lobbying for more hippo's,rhino's and elephants in politics.
do you know how annoying it is to have a very beautiful muse?
i can't even do an introduction, she is very inspiring but somehow not conducive to writing

I miss CP,our RP
say goodbye to sanity ,buster.

HAHAHA Good work! I expect to see the film version in cinemas soon!! Man that would be one long movie!

HSF is our touchstone, Pete - if you understand more than half he says in his Introductions post, you'll fit right in here!

JUST SO EVERYBODY UNDERSTANDS:My Muse edith

Ben, your muse is supposed to help you write, not distract you! :D

Yes, where is he? Chris, you've been slacking on your intros lately! Ben can't function without them. ;)

Anyway, HELLO AND WELCOME!!! Make yourself at home; we all have.

I've heard that too. Yes, I consider myself a writer -- just not a published one. And in reply to your question about where we each are in our own work, I'm currently on chapter six of book two in my series. Congratulations for writing as much as you have: Some people find it difficult to continue once they get started. :)

P.S. Isn't this thread in the wrong place? Shouldn't it be in the "Introductions" forum?

hello and welcome,

Srry to burst ur bubbles guys but Im not a writer, I tried once to write a story and got the first chapter done, ran outta ideas and stored it away somewere to think. Now I cant find it, It was a really awsome book too.

Well, bless ur heart, dewd! You are among those who make it possible for writers to pay the rent...and don't annoy us by crowding the field. May you live long, read much, and prosper enough to buy many.

Welcome, Pete.:) I could only wish I was as close to getting something published as you are! I have plenty of ideas, but they just won't transfer to paper at the moment. (That's another problem of mine - I write on paper, as opposed to typing it on the computer, and it takes a fair bit longer.)

Still, congratulations on getting so far, and I think you'll get on well here!:)

Yes too true, but two things, 1. I did not see the introductions area to begin with :)...and... 2. I was kinda aiming at a getting published thread because I'm getting close to that now.

Thanks for your welcome everyone! :p

BTW...I am new to Forums, this is my first. If anyone with the POWER would like to move this to the correct area, please do so. Sorry :D

Meowrr and Namaste Pete. Am not a writer either. Am very much an editor and a reader.

Welcome to this tiny piece of insanity. Please leave all notions of sanity at the door or keyhole as it were. We've misplaced the doors and the keys though we have doormats and keyholes.

Sanity would only get terribly upset in here. Aside from that you're basically doomed. Best get used to having an addiction called Chronicles. Come along to the tea room and say hello and have some chai, tea, coffee, caterpillar seed cake.... :p

Ok here we go…. Eh hem…

I was driving through the treacle layer of planet wibble, astride my pigmy goat 'Derek', when I came across a wondrous sight. I said, "Woah Derek, look at this, a whole family of migrating paperclips!" Derek smiled at me (the only way a goat can) and said, "Yes Pete, 'tis truly marvelous, I have not beheld such an event since last Janmember eve…"

Ok there's some madness… maybe you all could chip in, we'll turn it into a manuscript and pitch it to potential publishers? Just an idea!

Thanks all for the warm welcome.
