Babylon 5 movie to be RECAST??? =(

This is my first post here, but I need to get the word out. The upcoming Babylon 5 movie (The Memory of Shadows) is being threatened by the evils of corporate micromanagement and "suit meddling." Apparently, negotiations are down to the wire and Warner Brothers is trying to get these beloved characters RECAST with up and coming actors / actresses.

Please help get the word out about this. Those of us in the world who are true B5 fans find this 100% unacceptable. We need the help of fans across the globe to voice their opinions with a resounding NO!

Hi alluvial, and welcome to the chronicles network.

I took the liberty of removing the link from your campaign site for the time being, as IP based sites, rather than actual registered domains, can be very iffy to work with. So I replaced the IP-based link to the production site link you mentioned before.

As to a Babylon 5 film - not a bad idea, but Babylong 5 absolutely has to cast itself forwards from the original series, and the spin-offs.

In my opinion, it would be far better to move away from the existing cast and characters, and move to something in the future or past (as appropriate). That means walk-ons at best for any existing characters.

I haven't heard anything about this, and Im a bit shocked. If I see someone else playing parts that I know as belonging to some-one else, I'll get confused, and most likely angry. The actors, along with the writing, was what made Babylon 5 what it is! I don't want to see new actors, I want to see the cast as it should be!

Amen! This is an outrage! If this is officially confirmed than I would prefer to boycott the movie project and hope it never gets made. I would only accept the original actors playing the existing characters of B5. Then again, I like Brian's idea of moving forward with an entirely different story with a different cast.

There have been a couple of series/films where there has been a complete re-cast from the original series...

With the Rangers and Crusade... So, hell, why not... But away from Babylon 5... and what about the Drakh Plague???
