ASOIAF Sword Replicas. Have you seen them? What do you think?

Thank you all for the warm welcome and the abundance of replies. I feel right at home here now.:confused:
 
I'll just talk to myself, then. I personally think the Longclaw pommel design is great. Not so sure that I like the blade pattern, though. It looks too much like the cheap 'Made in India' and 'Made in China' blades on those three dollar folding knives. I think maybe I would have preferred a pissed off wolf on the pommel, but maybe that just stems from my anger at how the Stark family has fared in the series so far. Hopefully, the calm and collected wolf on the pommel of the sword knows things that we don't. Probably great for crackin' skulls though, heh! (Sorry for the Walder Frey. Maybe I'll finally get a response!)
 
Sorry bub, Im not into replica swords so I have no opinion. Yer welcome regardless of your strange and heathen interests. Heh!
 
I have seen what Longclaw looks like, and it is beautiful. The black and gray ripples look great... I thought it was interesting that they chose revers colors for the wall plaque. Instead of the white direwolf on the gray background, it is vice versa. I wonder if they'll do Needle, what part of Arya's life they'll associate that wall plaque with.
 
WW6613, Welcome! My apololgies. Those swords look real. The website looks real. This seems like a legitimate thread... Sorry, I'm so used to dealing with fantasy and conspiracies that I am not accustomed to posting on real topics.

I'd like to talk intelligently on the topic of swords (like I do on all the other topics here :rolleyes:), but I don't know anything about replica weaponry. In the words of the Gaffer, "I don't hold with wearing ironmongery, whether it wears well or no."

It's hard to tell how nice the swords are from what the site shows so far - it's just snippets (and production designs) so not really representative of the finished article I guess?
Not really into owning swords anyway but happy for those who are
 
I can't say it looks much like I'd imagined. I'd prefer a snarling wolf, and I thought the head would be pointing along the line of the blade, not facing outwards as it is. Not something I'd ever countenance buying, but each to there own.

Well, they did the colors of the plaque in reverse because Jon is a ******* and that is what bastards often do in the books. And yes, Needle is the next 'sword' to be produced. I have a feeling I'll be picking up one of each of the replicas.
 
Holy Crap, Beefcake!! That version of Longclaw is awesome! Thanks for that...! Wonder how much that set that guy back.:eek:
 
For White Wolf, or anyone else interested, the sword website says that Needle is currently at GRRM's house for his perusal. I can just picture George walking around his house scaring cats and saying "Stick them with the pointy end."
 
Perhaps GRRM will use it to Needle some of the "fans" who've been bitching about the ADWD publication date.
