I see favourite characters but not favourite story. so here it is :)

My favourite one today (because i have mood swings) would have to be...........
....
....
.....
....
....
.....
Damn. i can see why im the first to put this thread up, its just too damn hard. hmmmmmm.

My favourite ark is the nightwatch tales and anything with vetinari in.

your thoughts?

I've only read the first ten or so books of the Discworld novels -- so far, I hasten to add; I will read them all! -- but I do love the Rincewind books (I love that coward :D) and I think my favourite book is possibly Sourcery. Mind you, I also really enjoy the Witch books. Granny is awesome and Nanny Ogg is hilarious.
But then I also liked Mort because DEATH featured quite heavily in it...

You're right, it's very hard to choose! :D

I dont read the witches books very often but i do enjoy them when I do, espeacialy maskerade, agnes nitt makes my day.

Ive only read one book with rincewind in and that was ERIC i like the way it was like a friendly dantes inferno, the luggage cracks me up everytime :)

Men at Arms because it was the first book i read from Prachett.

Still makes me laugh :)

Love all the Witch books,
but The Wee Free Men, are my favorite, they can come and live at my house, as long as we can barter, house work for sheep linament!!

There's just so many! I'd probably have to say Night Watch, though.

Second and third would be Small Gods, and Lords and Ladies, in that order, though Reaper Man and Hogfather take honorable mentions.

I can't really pick one book, I love the whole discworld! I think the one I most enjoyed reading would be Thud!, but that doesn't make it the best.

I can never choose a favourite discworld book because pTerry is capable of writing consistently good, if not better.

Small Gods without a doubt.
His attacks on organised religion are hilariously vicious and near to the knuckle. Plus the scenes where Om gatecrashes the home of the gods and nuts one of them is a classic :)

Usually my favourites are;
The Fifth Elephant - Uberwald, the Watch, dwarves, plus the werewolf/vampire relations were great!
Lords and Ladies - I love the sinister elves, and anything with the witches.
Night Watch - just very moving, and cleverly written (not to say the others aren't either). I also really liked Thud, for similar reasons, but that could also be because I've read it very recently.

I couldn't really get into Going Postal, and that along with the Last Continent have been the only ones I wasn't particularly keen on.

I'm reading that one right now! Well, not now... now I'm typing "I'm reading that one right now!", obviously. But if I would be reading right now, it would be Reaper Man. Yeah.

When grading his books it is hard when you are talking about a range between 99 and 100% perfect.

My personal favourites are the Watch arc with Guards! Guards! and Feet of Clay top of the list.

Behind this arc it would be Mort and the Colour of Magic (from about 85/86 as a student - only book that I fell of the bed laughing and started my obsession)
