I'm interested in reading a few young adult books over summer - along the lines of Harry Potter and Bartimaeus - which I found to be fantastic.

Any recommendations?

Much thanks!

Mike

The Divide - Elizabeth Kay. A great read with a fascinating subtext. You only have to look at the string of five star reviews on amazon to know that I'm not over-hyping this. It's a fantastic book.

Lian Hearn's Otori tales which starts with Across the Nightingale Floor is very good.

May I hesitantly suggest my Stravaganza series, which begins with City of Masks?

I'm going to start a thread about them very soon.

Excellent idea, Mary! I'm very glad you found our little piece of heaven here on this forum.

I'll even be so bold as to start the thread for you. :)

Thanks for the replies.. I've bought the first Percy and the Olympians book, and will check it out soon.

By all means suggest your own work, Mary - It's always great to hear of published writers on the forums here, especially being an aspiring one myself. I'll be sure to keep my eyes out for it.
