Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

Bloody Jack series by L.A.Meyer

and for something a little different (but a trilogy I've enjoyed a lot)

Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld

The Divide - Elizabeth Kay. A great read with a fascinating subtext. You only have to look at the string of five star reviews on amazon to know that I'm not over-hyping this. It's a fantastic book.

C.S. Lewis' "Narnia," Chronicles, of course.

Thanks for the replies.. I've bought the first Percy and the Olympians book, and will check it out soon.

By all means suggest your own work, Mary - It's always great to hear of published writers on the forums here, especially being an aspiring one myself. I'll be sure to keep my eyes out for it.
