(Reuters) - "Galactic Suite," the first hotel planned in space, expects to open for business in 2012 and would allow guests to travel around the world in 80 minutes.

Well, if you can afford it....but anything that kickstarts the commercialisation of space travel must be a good thing, surely?

I noticed they didn't elaborate on what these scientific experiments would entail. "Come for 4 days in the first space hotel" and then wake up 50 years later orbiting a distant star!
