So I like Michael A. Stackpole's work a lot, but I have never read any of the Battletech stuff. I'm just curious, if anyone else has read them--do I need to read the entire series? Or can I just jump around and read Stackpole's books and have them make sense? Becuase there are a ton of Battletech novels out there, and I don't want to have to read--for instance--the entire twenty-five-ish books in the Dark Age series just to get to the three or four of Stackpole's.

From memory, Michael's books seem to progress the main story of the clan war and Victor Davion, whilst most of the other authors just told side stories to this.

It's been a very long time since I read any b'tech stuff, so my memory of it is hazy.

It has been a while so I am afraid I cannot remember authors names, but most of the battle tech books I have read were ok on their own or at most a triplet, but that may just have been chance

All right, excellent. Thanks guys. I'll probably just pick up a trilogy Mike wrote and read it and see where it goes. If it's massively confusing, I'll have to backtrack from there. But it sounds like it'll work.
