The book was fantastic.
I seriously couldn't put it down I was so impressed with it.
I won't post any spoilers I'll just go on about how amazing it was.
The ideas were excellently used and I thought it was a brilliant way to finish the trilogy.
I also liked the way that there was a slightly open ending, maybe you'll write another!

Wow! That was fast. :) If only I were allowed to make the books longer, I might manage to stop people reading the entire book the day it becomes available! Of course the inevitable question then follows ... when's the next book coming out? To which I reply ... I can't write them as fast as you read them!

The ending was deliberately left that way to give me the option to return. I already have ideas for future stories, but those are best left alone for now, as I have more than enough to do writing the Dragon Orb quartet.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the story, Feordel. It always gives me warm fuzzies when the first few bits of positive feedback start coming in.

Well you should be proud of yourself Mark!
This is the first book (other than the harry potter series) where I have just read it non stop, a great compliment from me!

I have to admit, I am some what jealeous! I am eagerly couting down the days until September the 3rd! (And hopefuly at last compleating my collection of signed Darkweaver and Ipearial books!)

I've yet to find a book that I couldn't read in a day :p (The Wheel of Time ones possibly not counted as they tend to make me feel sleepy!)

I didn't think it had been published yet ???!! Amazon are saying 3rd of September?

3rd September is the official launch date, but the books are sent out to stores up to a couple of weeks before that date. Stores rarely take note of publishing dates unless there are strict embarges like those on the Harry Potter books. Amazon have been sending out books for a few days now. :)

I cant wait till tommorow now. Just got back from france so its lucky it wasnt a day or two earlier.

Just off to pack my bag, Matt. I look forward to seeing you there. :)
It'll be a long day of signing tomorrow, but I'm hoping to sell plenty of books.

I nearly bought it yesterday but as I was about to pay for it, I realised that Mark was coming to sign his books in Waterstones next Saturday so I thought that I'd wait.
There's going to be some competition though, Mark as Mary Hoffman is going to be there as well.

Im about halfway now. I know i definately guessed one thing right so far.

I know, Threddy. In fact there will be three of us there, as Jo Kenrick will be signing too. I don't see it as competition, though. It will be a lot of fun to have other authors around. I've done these sort of events before and everyone wins in the end. :)

Best of luck with the launch and book signings, Mark. Your Imperial trilogy is on the way from Amazon as I type! I'm ashamed at being so tardy in reading them (school holidays, the Edinburgh book festival and a mountain of work...) They sound fantastic - in fact, it was a rave review on the review section of this very forum that reminded me I was missing out on a very good read! :)

I just realised I have one chapter and the epilogue left. I do sometimes get so anoyed when a book ends, especially a series. I guess i will have read the end by tommorow.

Well, having read Exodus and seen how well you write, I hope you don't pick too many holes in it! My writing visibly improves as the series progresses. I'd love to go back and give the first book another edit now that I've learned a little more of the trade, so to speak, but I know I need to just keep moving on and looking to write that perfect book ...

I hope you had fun at the Edinburgh Festival. That's one I've not done yet. I spoke at Cheltenham last year and have just been approached by one of the organisers at the Bath Festival, so hope to do something there next year. I'd like to think that Edinburgh will invite me one day.

Oh, and Matt - not to worry, the good thing about books is that you don't wear out the words by reading them, so you can always go back and read them again! :)

Brilliant timing. im just finishing off Imperial spy and was wondering when the next book would come out ;)

I'm going to enjoy the books - Mark, I pick holes in my own books all the time. I tend towards (healthy, mostly) envy of what I see in other authors that I can't do! If only I could go back and rewrite bits of Exodus...in fact, make that every book I've ever written. There's one bit of Zenith I was persuaded to change and now desperately wish I hadn't. I've a young nephew who I think might just love your books.

And dammit, have missed my Amazon package because I've just come in, having kickstarted my brain with a coffee in my 'outside office' (local cafe). I had a peek at your website a little while ago and saw that you have the same habit! There's something about the buzz of a cafe, and a lack of housework tasks - and the caffeine - that just works for me in a way that a silent house does not.

If you can think of any ideal 'sparring partners' you could do an event with, let me know and I'll try to put a word in for you with the Edinburgh people. They like to team up writers. It's a great festival to do, huge, and the children's/ YA programme is fantastic. However, I've never done Bath and would love to!

Okay, back to the chaotic pile of notes that is nowhere near being a book....

I'll have a think about that, Julie. When you say 'sparring partners', are the events normally a debate of some kind? I know lots of children/YA authors who are members of the Scattered Authors' Society, so there's bound to be someone I can team up with. What sort of thing normally appeals up there? Or is it, the more diverse, the better?
