I thought I'd start a thread about this lady as I am finding it very difficult to find anyone out there who has read her books and it's a crying shame because they are both thoroughly enjoyable.
The first one is called On The Dragon's Breath and is the first in what looks to be a series, it's only two in so far but I believe there is a third in the works and possibly a fourth.
Having just finished the second book, The Glaston Giant, I thought it about time that I just put myself out there and asked the wonderful people at Chrons if they had read the books also.
This is my short review of On The Dragon's Breath from Amazon...
I picked up this book on an impulse buy at some point last year and I am so glad I did. I barely put it down and when I did, it was reluctantly. I especially loved the relationship between Jack and Cabal and thought Cabal very well written. There is humour laced throughout alongside rather poignant moments which really went some way in helping this reader connect with the characters.
Even though it's a book aimed at the young adult market, at 27, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend anyone to read it.
As for the Glaston Giant, I really enjoyed it, brilliant sequel to On The Dragon's Breath. I still love Merlin and the author has a wicked sense of humour!
I thought the story was really good and I really like the character of Mab... my skin crawls at the thought of the character Mordred but Mab just makes me chuckle!!
As for the giant himself, not what I expected, I always assume giants to be stupid lumbering idiots but he had a bit of intelligence to him, he was just lazy.
So, anyone else out there read these two gems? If so, did you enjoy them or were they not your cup of tea?
xx
