Anyone reads this writer?

I just finished reading The Killing Floor aka the first Jack Reacher novel and was impressed alot by it. Cant wait to read the second book in the series.

I recommend that book highly.

Have you read Barry Eisler's John Rain books? Reacher reminded me off Rain in the way he deals with his enemies. Plus his instincts is very interesting. He doesnt work out everything cause he is uber smart. He work his way through things.

Also dont read too much of that synopsis in the link, i mean it gave away like 50% of the book.

No, I haven't read any of the Barry Eisler John Rain books. But did read the Killing Floor.

Two things. First of all, if a treasury agent, which I assume to be a member of the Secret Service, was murdered and it was brought to the attention of his superiors, there would be other agents all over the area to investigate.

Spoiler info.

When Reacher was first in the warehouse and looking at the stacks and stacks of money, my first thought was, they're going to burn it all up. And so they did. lol

All in all, in spite of the minor flaws, I did enjoy the book and am now reading the second one Die Trying.

The attention of his superiors thing easy to undestand. It was clear his brother partner Reacher talked to didnt want to let anyone esle know what happened to Joe Reacher before she and Reacher cleared the case. I think i remember, Reacher understanding she wanted to keep Joe thing secret and risk everything by working it out with Reacher.

Sadly book two isnt as good. Not as many interesting characters and as tight plot as KF. Finley,Roscoe,The dirty FBI agent etc was alot better than the characters in Die Trying you will se why.

If you want to try similer type of story and characters i think Richard Stark's criminal Parker and his story is alot superior to Child's Reacher. Barry Eisler is as good if not alittle better if Childs other Reacher books arent as good or better than KF.

I just bought three books for my Dad as birthday and Christmas presents, but from what I've read here I'm tempted to read them myself.

I haven't read any of them yet, but I'm tempted to. For my Dad, I bought Killing Floor, Die Trying, and The Hard Way, and from what he says about the other books he's read by Child, they're pretty good.

Aha well then i think you will enjoy the first one Killing Floor. Hope you stayed away from the spoilers about KF so we didnt ruin it for you.
