Madeleine L'Engle, author of many well-known young adult books, died on Thursday at the age of 88. Although her passing was not unexpected, I still find it sad news.
Her classic book "A Wrinkle in Time" was one of my first sci-fi books, and that with its sequels "A Wind in the Door" and "A Swiftly Tilting Planet" are still among my favorite books. L'Engle also wrote the award-winning "Meet the Austins" series, and has a total of over 60 published materials. She was a wonderful author whose work has influenced many.
