HBP: July 16, 2005

JK Rowling's two English language publishers Scholastic and Bloomsbury announced today that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released at midnight BST (British Summer Time) in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa on Saturday, July 16th, 2005. Bloomsbury will be releasing both the hardback childrens and adult versions (same text, different cover) of HBP like the previous books, both with a suggested retail price of £16.99, with the US version at $29.99 (although some stores have already set their pre-order price at $17.99). Bloomsbury has informed us that HBP will be "a bit shorter than Order of the Phoenix."

We owe a huge thank you to Jo Rowling for this wonderful news and we wish her a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Pre-order at Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, or Amazon.ca.

gah...that still 7.5 months... I so did not want to know this. If it had been midnight tonight then I would have been happy!

me...impatient? No way, seriously, I'm not. Not at all.. I can wait. I can be paint *drums desk*

Uhm right. july 16th it is...

*puts up calendar*

Heh I love being the bearer of good news. I was so happy when I heard it though she said that the next book will kind of be like part 1 of the end. She said that it will have it's own storyline but will raise questions that will only be answered in book 7. I hope that doesn't ruin book 6.

Maybe it will later. The news is just released, everyone is trying to pre order.

And my experience is, never do pre order it always arrives late. Just go to the store. They always have enough copies...

HAHAHAHAHA.... Am I bad? I preorder three of them, one for me, another for a close friend who got me hook on Potter, and a birthday gift for my employee...
I was actually thinking of setting up a count down of when it will be released... I know Barnes and Noble is going to have a midnight party to celebrate the release (or something like that so we can pick up the book when they are first released).

I've always wanted to go to these midnight parties they've been having for the releases of these books. But, I don't have any friends here that would be remotely interested and I'd feel such a geek going alone. Of course, I'm usually a geek anyway but this would be just the pocket protector moment...:D

At least you get the opportunity to go to one of these parties, they dont have them were i live :( I'd go for the novelty factor :D

I was considering pre-ordering it when I saw that Waterstones were giving £50 worth of book tokens for anyone who did. But it was all £2 of this book, and £1 of that book, so I didn't bother...

I'm not pre-ordering, as it doesn't sound *that* enthralling. I only like Draco Malfoy :p
