Who will admit to keeping a computerised database of their home libraries :)

Same here, and I can never work one out to my satisfaction...categories, titles etc...

Nah, too much work. I will admit to having a spreadsheet listing those books I've read as well as those I'd like to read...oops, did I just admit to being a book geek? Ah well, nothing you guys didn't already know :p

My other half got one.
But not me, too much work to create and to update.

I should really log what books I have got, because people keep buying me books that I already own. In fact I have on two occasions bought books for myslef that I already owned!

Does anybody have a top ten hit list? :)

1 - Margaret Thatcher
2 - Gary Glitter
3 - Steve McClaren
4 - Busted
5 - Justin Timberlake
6 - Guy Richie
7 - David Blunkett
8 - Pauline Fowler (The miserable sow from Eastenders)
9 - Hannah Martin (An old character from Neighbours)
10 - Gareth Gates

Don't feel too bad dwndrgn, I too have a computer list of books I would like to read ... but mine is in Word so go me :) I don't really need to catalogue the ones I have yet, though, since my collection is pretty limited and I try to rent from the library when possible.

I decided to set up a database using Microsoft Access when I bought a book twice  I realised I had to do something to remind me of what books I had. It's grown quite once I got started, not it's not just the books I have but the books I want in a series and the ones I want by my favourite authors :D It's good fun too.

I've got things ordered on the shelves abecedarian and by broad category, so I don't bother. I'd like one, but I'm not sure I need one. What would be the minimum feasible number of books owned before it is entirely unjustifiable.

I don't have a book library at the moment, but that is a good idea. I once had one for my music, but it went away with the old computer. I should really start a new one....maybe a book one is in need considering I have roommates. :)

It probably isn't a good idea that I even saw this thread. ;) I've been threatening to do this for years now; it's just that with a lack of shelf space, I've got a lot of my books boxed up right now, and I haven't wanted to go getting them all out and stacked all over the house again.
