Just finished reading this one, an early PKD novel (novelette?).
Anyone would care to discuss it? Here's a plot summary from wikipedia.

Plot introduction (*****SPOILERS*****)

Dr. Jim Parsons, is a doctor from 2112, born in 2080. Abruptly, he undergoes involuntary time travel to 2405 CE, and finds that his profession is treated with disdain. In this overpopulated future, individuality is sacrificed for the good of the human race as a whole. By killing off the weak, poverty and disease are eliminated, and humanity has an optimal chance for survival. Moreover, African Americans and Native Americans control this future world, and caucasians have wiped themselves out in the past.
After curing a dying woman, Chancellor Stenog exiles Parsons to Mars, but his spaceship is intercepted en route, and Parsons is returned to Earth. On finding a marker, he is directed to a Native American tribal lodge, where he must perform surgery to save the life of a wounded Native American time traveller, Corith, after the latter had previously died from an arrow wound. Parsons extracts the arrow, but it mysteriously rematerialises in Corith's body.
To resolve this situation, Parsons and Corith's relatives travel back to Corith's previous assignment in Elizabethan England, where he was to kill Sir Francis Drake, and change history. While observing this, Parsons realises that Drake is actually Chancellor Stenog, and tries to warn Corith- who dies due to his distraction.
Stranded in Elizabethan England, Parsons is rescued by Loris, one of Corith's female relatives, who will have Parson's child in the future. Parsons decides to kill Corith after his surgery, but one of Loris' jealous former lovers does so before he can. Parsons is returned to 2112, and manufactures the marker that his past "future" self will discover in 2405.

I've read that book recently but it was titled for some reason Dr. Bloodmoney. It starts interesting but in the middle I got a little bit confused of what was the central plot. Those mutants from radioactive war are getting much more involved in the real day activities and people are scared of them but when the new attacks begin they are the only one that can do jobs outside.
Am I at least close? I mean I love PKD but a lot of times I get confused when I'm reading his books

I just read this book and really liked it.
I never liked Dr. Furturity, its a weird book and it doesn't appeal to me...
A weird PKD book? That doesn't seem right...:p

Yes, it is a bit weird but not his weirdest, not by a long shot. A mind bending, twisted journey through time that touches upon the question of free will and fate.

I thought it was one of the more normal PKD offerings, really enjoyed it though for all that.

It's interesting to read his early work and see what he came from.

Dr Futurity and Vulcan's Hammer are generally regarded as PKD's worst SF novels. Certainly the man himself felt this way about them (see Sutin's biography Divine Invasions for more on this). It's been a full decade since I read these potboilers, but I feel that Dr Futurity was slightly less awful than Vulcan's Hammer. But they are both very poor and it's amazing that they are in print today. This is coming from someone who loves this man's work like nothing else.

I found an old paperback edition of "Dr Futurity" so I don't know if it's still in print. But I have to say that it was actually quite good. Certainly not the weakest of his novels that I have read so far. Better than, say, "The Simulacra" that was included in the SF Masterworks seires.
