Has anybody read the following books by Sarah Monette? I did, and really enjoyed them. So far they seem to be a trilogy, but unlike other trilogies this one does not have a name. They are just one book followed by the next one, but they are all the continuation of the previous one.

1. Melusine 2005
2.The Virtu 2006
3. The Mirador 2007
4. Summerdown2008

Like other authors Ms Monette has her own website (http://www.sarahmonette.com/index.html) and in the introductory page (Home) I found the reference to a fourth book Summerdown which is meant to appear during 2008.

There is a section in the website called Journal, but I am not sure whether is her blog, or other people write as well, but the thing is that it didn’t feel like the right place to post this question, (is Summerdown the continuation to The Mirador), so I was wondering if any of you has heard/read anything about it. By the way her next book is called A Companion to Wolves, co-written with Elizabeth Bear, and as far as I know is already out, but has nothing to do with the three previous ones.

I quite enjoyed Melusine, and recently picked up the Virtu. Melusine reminded me of the Kushiel books, though not near as complex.

I've read all three books that are out and have enjoyed them very much. A Companion to Wolves is not out here until October 16, a week from Tuesday. I have that on my wish list at B&N. I'll probably get the other books on your list when they are published.

As a fan of Robin Hobb the burb to A Companion to wolves sounds very similar. Any chance someone can give me a general idea as to the authors style of writing.

I read the first book, Melusine, and it wasn't really my cup of tea. I probably won't be buying any more of her books.

I read Melusine and liked it very much (although with reservations). It left me so eager to read the next one that I bought The Virtu in hardcover, and I hardly ever buy hardcover books.

But I found The Virtu far less involving, so while I'm still curious to know what happens next, I can easily wait until the next book is in paperback. (Although if I found it at the library or at a used-book store, I would undoubtedly pick it up now, and buy the paperback later.)

That's so interesting Teresa because Melusine didn't wow me but The Virtu did. The library has the third and I'm dying to read it but I've got too many on my plate at the moment to borrow it now.
