I've started reading Philip Pullman's biography and am fascinated by his ideas and great imagination in His Dark Materials. Though I don't agree with his religious or anti-religious beliefs. What do you all think of Pullman.

Ah, an intelect (I'm into philosophy and psychology)
This could prove interesting :)
Check out my post Realety or illusion in the Science/Nature post Eldo, see what you think.

Eldo, I think that this thread would be better placed in one of the other sections - I'm sure that one of the guys will move it shortly. There are discussions on Pullman's work elsewhere that you might want to have a look through. I liked his Dark Material's Trilogy and would happily enter discussion on it, but I think that this is the wrong section of the site to do so.

Will catch up with the thread once it has been relocated. :)

Hello Mark

Your spot on there. I'll enter the Science and Nature section.

Only read the dark materials trilogy. Apparently its a childrens series, I think its more older teenagers or above. Theres far too many more adult insinuations in it, let alone the ending.

I was shocked to read a "book of the month" magazine, and found that "His Dark Materials" is classed as being for 11+ year olds...

Having read the first one and onto the second of the trilogy, I wouldn't believe that an 11 year old would understand it...
