Unknown Movie

I have been searching and searching for a Anime style movie which I saw back in '92 I think... I don't have a clue on who wrote, produced or directed. All I do know it like the first 5 minutes and some of the middle. So since I know you guys and girls love challenges I'm gonna try to tell you what the beginning was like.
If I remember right it started off with a 'lil boy dreaming about a train coming at him and a wooden cottage. Then he wakes up violently and falls on the floor. His parents start yelling at him that he always falls out of bed. The next thing i remember is him looking out his window and then running outside to watch a parade in the streets. You see like carnival people dancing and singing. Next thing you see is him in bed. Suddenly there's a bright light coming from his window he gets up and it's some kind of blimp flowed thingy. Then some dialog happens and then he's taken to a fantasy land, cloud city place. He meets a young princess they have fun together idk what they did and some more dialog . Then someone show him a HUGE Door keeping a Darkness from hurting this kingdom and of course some how it get out and reeks havoc on the kingdom.... and that all i remember if you people would please try to figure out what movie this is it would be greatly appreciated

Appears this thread is 6 years old but I can answer the question. The film you are referring too is called, Little Nemo in Slumberland. It was a joint American/Japanese production.
