Can you help me find a fantasy series?

I've been searching for this fantasy series for several years that I read as a kid. It's got a main character who wields a sword that forces him to kill more and more much like Stormbringer from the Moorcock Elric series. However this guy rides around on a giant cat. I'd be thrilled if I could find it again. (Course it might be awful reading it again, who knows.) Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Could it be the Gandalara Cycle? I haven't read it, but he rides a telepathic cat.
