A Memory of Light

Full story here.

A reasonable choice, I think. Someone who's a proven talent with a good writing style and the time to really sink into the project. Impressive stuff. Congratulations to Brandon!

I'm not sure why you say, "If it's true," though. Tor have confirmed it, Robert Jordan's widow and editor has confirmed it and Brandon Sanderson himself has confirmed it. It's happening.

I hope Mr. Sanderson describes all the dresses correctly. That's always been my favorite part of the series.

Heh, j/k... this is good news. I decided awhile back that I wasn't going to read anymore of the series until the final book was released at which point I'll just reread the entire thing. I'm glad it's going to happen!

I was being cautious, that's all. I've misquoted things before, and didn't want to make a fool of myself. Didn't quite succeed with that one, though.

Still, good luck to Brandon!

doh! I almost started a new thread w/ the news. Guess I was a day late. Good to know. I had no doubts it would be finnished by someone.

Woah, I've been away for too long, when the heck did Robert Jordan die? Funnily enough when I first started reading this series 9 years ago I read about how old he was and I thought "I hope he doesn't die before he finishes" and now he has, just before the last book. Does this explain the previous half-baked book, he was racing to finish it all before he departed?

He died September 16 last year.

My local library has the first two of his Mistborn series in hardcover, and once I started them, it was very difficult to put them down. Mistborn comes with a unique magic system that I have never encountered before in any other fantasy novel, and Brandon Sanderson is a master at weaving that magic into the very fabric of the Mistborn world. I will definitely be buying that series to add to my own personal library, and I cannot think of a better choice to finish The Wheel of Time series! :)

He also has a stand-alone novel called Elantris which I enjoyed very much. It was his first book.
