Arya's list

I've been thinking about this all day and it really seems to be that everyone on Arya's blacklist is doomed to die. They've been dropping like flies ever since she started reciting those names every night before going to bed. Most interestingly, I believe that The Hound will survive through the entire series because Arya took him off the list. However, Ser Gregor is still on it so maybe that's a bit of foreshadowing the outcome of un-Gregor and Sandor's epic confrontation.

Cersei is still on the list as well which means she's probably doomed to die before the series finishes. Oddly enough, Jaime never made it onto the list so it could stand to reason that he survives and may be another clue that he's the one that ultimately kills Cersei.

Does anyone know offhand how many on the list she's personally responsible for killing? I'll have to do a count of this later on if no one knows.

Yes, that's a good point. I like to think Jaime will come fully into his redemption. I was thinking about his dream of being down in the crypts. When i read it, I just assumed it was for his death, but I think it was really meant for Cersei and his father. I had thought they were down visiting them. But I think he was down visiting them...

Well, this is what I found for her list, so anyone can correct it if I'm wrong.

Chiswyck
Weese
Ser Gregor
Dunsen
Polliver
Raff the Sweetling
The Tickler
The Hound (removed)
Ser Amory
Ser Ilyn
Ser Meryn
King Joffrey
Queen Cersei

I can't remember if anyone besides the Hound was removed, so correct me if I'm wrong.

So it looks to me like she's personally responsible for three on that list. She had Jaquen kill Chiswyck and Weese, correct? She personally killed The Tickler. Sandor killed Polliver.

I hope that the Hound actually survived. Good character, he was/is.

I don't remember that, even now. However, I'm glad he's not dead :)

Believe that viZion is dead right with this one.

On the side note - would love if Jaime survives, since I consider him one of the bravest and most honest characters in the series.

He is. He's one of the monks Brianne meets in monastery. This one huge, digging a grave, that likes dogs.

I know this has been theorized but do we have any proof? Don't get me wrong, I like the idea but am not certain we have any sort of real confirmation or am I forgetting something?

There has been no confirmation but the evidence I can think of is:

Brienne never saw this brothers face, he kept a hood on I think, she would have known him.

Elder Brother says several times that The Hound is dead, never Sandor or Clegane or any other name, just The Hound. Says he washed up on shore nd he buried him himself, I think he buried The Hound by forgiving Sandor.

The kicker though is Stranger. No one touches that horse. There is one brother who lost an ear to him. Yet Stranger is happily residing in the stables.

Yes, the horse may seal the deal and I am inclined to think that the hints do point to his survival. Makes me wonder what his role will become, if any, as the story moves forward.

Loved the thread, got a great chuckle out of the last date being 12/2007 and here we are only 1 more book along and still wondering. Yikes, GRRM really needs to pick up the pace.

I think your theory has great promise but agree with others that somehow Sansa gets involved again or perhaps even Arya, heck maybe both of them! One way to clean up a few storylines would be to bring those 3 together:D

New theory: Arya will return to marry Sandor and will spawn a brood of deadly children that are so hate-filled that they channel their bitterness to burn the Others to cinders by giving them the evil eye, reciting their names before bed, and through the use of deadly biting sarcasm.
