Has a month really gone by?
Seems like only a few days ago, I was updating ya'll on Mom's condition.
She is doing better, btw. Still not out of the woods, but the eye continues to heal, and she continues to regain confidence in getting out and driving herself.
Then of course, the holidays flew in the door. With them, the sale of Angels of Mercy and the receipt of a paycheck bonus, that actually is allowing me--for once --to actually end a year in the black. And with some spare cash.
Christmas came with a bonus too. My youngest sister just announced that she and her husband of a year and a half are expecting their first child late next summer.
Just learned that my novella The Green Women is scheduled for release in January 2008 (From Sam's Dot Publishing). Have not seen the cover yet, so of course, I have no clue what it will look like.
Helix Speculative Fiction should be releasing my short story "Drooling Wizards" in February or March of 2008 (when the next issue goes out) and I think around the same time, Sorceress Signals (another online magazine) is putting out my story "Renalto" (which is a humorous reversal on the Rapunzel story).
Busy, Busy, Busy.
I am still working on The Hob of Cooley Glen and hoping to get back into some editing on a couple of other projects.
Still waiting to hear on Dragon's Tongue and Wandering Lark. Keeping fingers crossed that the news will be good.
Other than that, I am ready to toss off this year and get on with the next.
I hope everyone had a great holiday.
Oh, and Yard Dog Press tells me they will be having more special sales in January 2008, so keep your eyes peeled. No telling what goodies you could pick up for a song.
