Brian Aldiss book to be filmed?

Whats the american title? Isn't this first book?
Talking of titles,an Aldiss book i recieved recently,Canopy of Time which i believed is the US title for Galaxies Like Grains of Sand,yet mine is a British copy!

No, it wasn't his first. That was (iirc) The Brightfount Diaries, a humorous piece which anyone who has ever worked in retail (especially a book store) can easily identify with. Quite a nice book, really.... After that, I think, came Space, Time, and Nathaniel, a book of short stories....

Did a quick check; yep, that was it -- and STN actually had all his stories published to that time in it (according to Wiki, anyway....) Lord, it's been An Age since I read those books!

(Okay; that was unnecessary... I'll do penance later....)

Oh, and Non-Stop was frequently (though not always) published in the U.S. as Starship, which did tend to not only give away the plot, but reduce the levels of reference in the title....

Ah good stuff there,must look for that Brightfount diaries,sounds fun! I have 2 collections of his,The Saliva Tree and Canopy of time,any of the stories in those also in ST&N?

A quick check using the listings on isfdb indicates that there aren't....
