Okay, so I am rereading the series like I said I would, but I have special place that I keeping my book and special time alotted to my rereading project, so I only read about a page or two a day. I pick up on all kinds of stuff I skipped over last time (I can be impatient with details or extremely observant of details... To me, a detail is a thing to be interpreted, on the MBTI, I am highyl "N" and almost no "S"). I always want to write my observations, but my current reread program makes it difficult to get to the computer after my ... reading time. ;)

Anyway, my observations are random but I try to keep them somewhat chronological. I you have osmething random or something you picked up on in a reread, you may post it here.

Somebody, put up a bunch of links and explain to Deanna what a search engine is. Though i must say you're special place sounds intriguing.

PS: My S from my labtop isnt functioning well. I have to press on it extremely hard to make it work. Thats it for Kiwi interesting tidbit of today.

LOL.

Kiwi, you are a naughty boy... with a new avatar.

So, DeBe is highly N, I'll have to remember that. I'm also highly N and highly F, though I like to think of myself as highly S and highly T, but I'm borderline I-E. I'm also fairly P.

Anyway, this makes me wonder what the ASOIAF characters would rate up on the MBTI.

Eddard Stark - INFJ. He's definitely I. I think he'd think of himself as S, but his memories of Lyanna and his actions towards Cersei prove his N to me. I put him as F, but he may be borderline T... he wants the world to be black and white, but he wants love in return. I think the honor and duty in Eddard make him a solid J... yes, he empathizes with Gared, Lady, and Cersei's children, but ultimately he wields a sword.

I won't hog all the characters, I'll just leave you with Eddard.

Now I'm sure that this thread is sufficiently jacked... I'll move on to observations from my last read that I never shared.

Myranda Royce knows that Alayne Stone personally knows Jon Snow. Alayne might play this off as being cousins (Petyr and Eddard were both married to Tully girls and both sired bastards), but I tend to think that either Myranda will become a Sansa-Harry supporter or that Littlefinger will have to shut her up.

Also, Petyr will do something to ensconce himself with Harrold Hardyng aka Harry the Heir. He'll need to make himself as indispensible as he is with Robert. When he announces that Alayne is really Sansa, then he will no longer be able to claim her as his daughter. Will he marry Lady Waynwood? Presumably she is Harry's aunt/great aunt/grandmother and thus important to Harry. I just don't see Littlefinger gaining the Vale, just to give it away to Harry. Mayhaps, Harry will just be in Littlefinger's debt for killing Lysa and Robert.

And Robert must die. Littlefinger did not gain the Vale to hand it over to a mentally unbalanced and capricious invalid. That Littlefinger will plan Robert's death, I have no doubt. Robert's claim is from being Jon's son. Littlefinger might be able to prove that Lysa was in such dire straits to provide Jon with an heir that she slept with another man. He won't admit to this himself, he'll say it was Ser Hugh... Jon's squire who was slain by the Mountain during the Hand's Tourney... Or mayhaps he'll lay it at the door of drunken Ser Dontos. Or mayhaps he'll just let Robert die of addiction to milk of the poppy.

So Littlefinger's plan looks something like this... Littlefinger kills Robert. Sansa declares herself and marries Harry. Littlefinger kills Harry. Littlefinger, as Lord of Harrenhal and Lord Paramount of the Trident, then marries Sansa, Lady of Winterfall and Lady of the Vale, unifying the North, the Riverlands and the Vale under his personal rule.

It seems rather straight-forward for Littlefinger.
I guess its possible.

I thought it was a good idea Boaz. I dont know why I always assumed Petyr would be content to be a puppet master for Sansa and Harry....

As for marrying Sansa to take control of the Vale and the North, the only fly in the ointment would be her claim to the Vale. That would default back to Harry, whoever his heir would be. Im sure Petyr could find some contrivance to finagle a claim but Im sure the Royces at least would stand in the way of any such legal wrangling. Unless of course he waits til Harry and Sansa have a heir themselves. Then he could be Regent for the child.

Robert is going to die. Soon, and I think Petyr is already starting....I think his knowledge of the medications the maester has been feeding Robert is more sophisticated than we know. Witness the maesters surprise when Sansa tells him Robert didnt have a bloody nose....theres a reason he said he must talk to Petyr, but more importantly theres a reason George showed us that scene.

Wasn't there some super potent medication that the maester was giving Robert from time to time? After Petyr made the maester give Robert yet another dose, the maester said Robert couldn't have any more of it for many months. I'd always assume that Petyr was using that drug to kill Robert. Aegon may or may not be talking about the same thing. Already my memory is becoming hazy about small details like that.

Well let me look up the signs of the apocalypse....heres my translation from the Dead Sea Scrolls (kept fresh within the Dead Sea Tupperware)

"Watch for the day That the undeserved Aegon would coincide with not only he who sees with the letter Z, but the named stormtrooper who left his post as well (TK-421 by name) within the same sunset and by that coincidence you shall know that the time ending is nigh..."

So that was the poisoning I was obliquely referring to Viz.....and we should all find religion now.

Upon rereading I didnt know the Almighty was a Star Wars fan but I guess thats understandable no?

Aww geez....upon re-rereading I think I just conferred upon TK the auspices of Divinity....believe me that was an accident.

I shall now stop posting and ponder the particular demense that blasphemers like me end up spending eternity in.

What was this thread about again?

Well i can post some randomness too.

Anyone else get the feeling through the books that the commonfolk were all alot happier doing the targ rule, thats the only unhappy people were the nobles, everytime we hear from the commonfolk they always say things were better under trag. So are the nobles really behind an coup that ruined the life of commonfolk all around, and should they just have let The Mad King die in an hunting accident instead of bloody coup

Again just the mad rantings of a Dane.

It has to do with the fact that when it where only the Targaryens, their had not been wars for some time, ever since the last blackfyre rebellion, once Robert 's rebbelion, the country has been plagued more often by war, and when its war, its is usually the smallfolk wich suffer the most.

As a vertically-challenged man, i prefer midget or leprechaun

a flightless midget = dwarf
You probably meant Tyrion right?
LOL, just noticed, ramdomness is part of the thread title :)

Not in Warcraft II. I've got a flying machine! Oh, wait... those were gnomes.
