Has anyone read any of Meg Rosoff's books? She's an excellent writer who first came to prominence a few years ago with her debut novel 'How I Live Now'. It's a fantastic read - a very short, quite simple book with depth that belies its supposed simplicity. It's about an American girl in England during a Third World War and her relationship with her English cousins, leading on to the impact of the war and its final, shocking conclusion. It's quite possibly the best YA book I've ever read. Rosoff has also written two other books - 'Just in Case' (which I haven't yet read) and 'What I Was' (which is good, if not quite as good as HILN). Does anyone else know these books?

I´ve read "How I Live Now".
It was a complete impulse purchase - I was drawn in by the design of the book ( paperback ).
I had no idea what I was reading, from the text on the back I thought it was `just´ a Romance novel (you can propably guess what kind of book I mean), but I was positively surprised and impressed when I finished it.
And I still don´t know in which genre I would place it, if I wanted to tell someone about the book - and that´s a good thing.

I´d definetly like to read more of her.

I actually got sent a proof copy of "How I Live Now" to review - and, again, didn't know what I was in for - but loved it. Not read her later books, but they're on my (very long) list of books I ought to read when I find the time...

Pretty much what everyone else says. I liked How I Live Now a lot, and her next novels (Just In Case and What I Was) I aim to read ASAP.
