I'm interested in reading some stage plays. Problem is I can't really find any on the inter net. I can find film scripts but it's hard to find stage plays.

does any one know where to find stage plays?

This doesn't really seem appropriate for the Lounge, more for General Book (or literary) Discussions, so I'll be moving it there.

As for your question... well, most modern plays won't be available, as I'd imagine most are still in copyright; so for those you'd have to go looking for them in printed form. (There are exceptions.) As for classic plays, whether Shakespeare and the Elizabethans on, or as far back as the Greco-Roman era, those you can find on the internet. Below are a couple of sites, for instance (the last of which does contain plays from several eras, including more modern ones):

The Internet Classics Archive | Works by Aristophanes

The Internet Classics Archive | Works by Euripides

Drama: Plays

Especially if you are looking for contemporary plays, you may have better luck at your public library than on the internet, because of copyright issues. I used to check out books of plays from the library all of the time. Look on the 800 shelves if your library uses the Dewey Decimal system.

thanks guys and yes i'm looking for more of a modern play. maybe like a mystery story or just something from the last centurey. 20th

Try some Michael Frayn plays. Noises Off is by far and away the best piece of theatre I've ever seen :)
