How many have read Hobb's books under her other published name :)

I have started a lindholm book but didnt like it. I got a hundred pages into it and put it aside. With two names to go from Hobb is the better of the two imo.

I didn't read anything yet.I would like to read the Wizard of the Pigeons ( French translation Le dernier Magicien).

I've read this story, it was included in a Masters collection of fantasy stories and I quite enjoyed it :D

I've read all of her works under this name and liked all but The Reindeer People and Wolf's Brother. There wasnt anything really wrong with the story but they werent as exciting as I normally find this authors works :D

I picked up Lindholm's "Harpy's Flight" in a used bookstore last week, and started reading it last night.

So far, I'm liking it, though it's not nearly so polished as the Hobb books are.

i'm very interested in reading her books from lindholm, but getting them isn't the easiest task in the united states unless you're willing to pay a whole lot to amazon uk. maybe when i'm in london this summer i'll be able to find them at a more reasonable price.

actually you should check on the conversion rate from us dollar to british pound.

In all you will still get a raw deal. You are better off buying from a eurozone site. Euro is cheaper than the pound though still more expensive than the dollar. I buy through amazon.fr and find that books are far cheaper in euros than pounds. In england things are usually more expensive than the states.

Reindeer People
A Saga of the Reindeer People (omnibus)

1. The Reindeer People (1988)
2. Wolf's Brother (1988)

Windsinger
1. Harpy's Flight (1982)
2. The Windsingers (1984)
3. The Limbreth Gate (1984)
4. Luck of the Wheels (1989)

Novels
The Wizard of the Pigeons (1986)
Cloven Hooves (1991)
Alien Earth (1992)
The Gypsy (1992) (with Steven Brust)
These are the book Hobb has written under the Megan Lindholm name :)

I've read The Wizard of the Pigeons as part of a compilation by other authors. I really enjoyed it, despite it being one of her earlier works.
It's about wizard's who live in the US among normal people, and they all have their own special abilities. The book focuses on one who can call Pigeons to him and understand their language.
He gets involved in some murders and then finds himself battling to protect himself.

The Windsinger's series is the other favourite written as Megan Lindholm. I really liked this series, it focuses on a strong female character to, were her other works tend to focus on male ones. :)

I've read most of her books that she wrote in her own name but was disappointed. The Robin Hobb books are exactly the sort of books that I like to read whereas the Megan Lindholm ones are the the type of fantasy that doesn't really appeal to me. They are too one dimensional. I like sub-plots and mysteries, epics. I think the thing that really made her Robin Hobb books take off is that she tends to write them in the first person and this gives the plot more substance...

Am reading the Ki and Vandien quartet and am really hating them. I wanted to love these books because I adore the liveship / Farseer books. Very disappointed.

I loved reindeer people and wolf's brother but they are definately not as deep as the Robin Hobb books. Possibly also not as depressing. I think the Robin Hobb stuff is fantastic but I do tend to need something light hearted and happy afterwards. Wizard of the Pigeons was weird but good.

Have Harpy's Flight and am looking forward to starting it.

You know, its strange,..ive never read any of her Megan Lindholm works:( ...I keep picking then up in bookstores and flipping through but never quite get there:D .....Must do that (teir writes it down on her 'books i gotta pick up' list)
