On another thread I saw the the author had mentioned this movie being the first thing he saw that interested him in fantasy.

So I had never heard of it until then which came as quite a shock, being an obsessive follower of Dragons.

I was half enjoying until it came to the defeat of Ommadon. That has to be the most retarded way to defeat an enemy I ever saw. I understood the reasoning. It was the method of how it was carried out. After that I was just disappointed about the ending.

I think a remake of the story might be in order!

Anyway, I just wanted to complain

It's loosely based on a book The Dragon and the George by ..hold on, I'll look it up real quick...by Gordon R. Dickson. It's been a long time since I read it, but I remember really enjoying it as a fun, light read at the time.

i LOVE the flight of dragons. i guess because i like the sad fact that, by using reasoning to defeat the evil one, peter (that was his name, right?) could no longer stay in the magical world and had to go. and it made sense, that's why he was chosen, that's what they were hiding from.
love that cartoon. one of my favs. even with the cliche, woman who is CLEARLY a woman but the dude thinks she's a man at first (blind. he must be SO blind!)

Wow, saw this film a looong time ago, and completely forgot about it. I don't remember much about it bar the ending, which I remember clearly. So it must have made an impression on me. Looking back on it, I think it was rather good.

I am so glad you posted this! I LOVED this movie as a kid, and I couldn't remember what it was called, and haven't thought about it for a long time. But I watched it numerous times. I found a link to the full length movie (I think) on google:

I enjoy it but the books were a lot better,I would like to see re-made with some upto date CGI and more closer to the first book.
