I've just finnished the Bitterbynd by Celia Dart-Thornton and wondered if anyone has read anything else by her that they could recommend. I really enjoyed the Bitterbynd, I couldn't put them down and have already lent them out because I was talking about them so much!

hahaha, the price you pay for recommending books to friends/family... Lending out, and risking not getting them back... :D

Celia Dart-Thornton ain't an author I'm familiar with... Tell us something about the book... Is it aimed at male/female, young/old, or EVERYONE???

I also read her books.

I liked the first one, though the second one was better and decided that she had taken too little time writing the last one. It was too rushed and had too little story to be a good book.

The thing you have to understand about her books is that she uses language and mythology/fabels/folklore to build her stories in this, her first, trilogy.

She uses language very thoroughly and in different ways and there are a lot of words that you probably won't have seen written or heard before. She's a lot like Tanith Le in that respect and T Lee has been a definite influence on her writing according to her website:

Do check her out. She's quite different from most other fantasy authors writing today.

Cecilia comes from my home town Melbourne, australia.

I've met her several times, very nice lady!

Her writing as some have already alluded to is very lyrical in style and centred in celtic traditions.

Her Bitterbynde series, her first major entrance in fantasy is as follows:

The Ill Made Mute
The Lady Of The Sorrows
The Battle Of Evernight

Her new sereis is the Crownthistle Chronicles, a trilogy as follows. I've read Book 1 The Iron Tree and it was good but not as good for me as the Bitterbynde series.

The Iron Tree
The Well Of Tears
Crownthistle (not settled on Book 3 title).

Bye for now!!:D :D :D
