Vampire and a centaur and a queen with a head of snakes? anyone

Hi all
Looking for pointers to the book described above, I remember the cover had a picture of said queen and snakes, and I remember the vampire surviving on the centaurs blood but thats about all. I dont remember it being a classic read but read it on holiday once, off a bookshelf in a chalet, all my current WL of books to read are quite heavy so thought Id try and get hold of this for a little lighter reading. I can't think of which specific book this might be in the series, but just the thread title made me think of Piers Anthony's Xanth series. I believe there are about twenty of them now, but I stopped reading them back awhile ago. If your book had punning in it, then it's probably one of these.
