Hi everybody!
I apologize for not searching the forums for previous posts, but I was unsure as to how to search (the one about the ...)
but I am in need of help in finding some of the books I read as a child.

1. there is one about a group of children who board a space ship, and the ship takes off. The pilot dies of radiation poisoning, and the children manage to land the ship safely.

2. Aliens invade earth by taking over people's bodies, and the only way you can tell is by is a red mark on their neck. Then another group of aliens arrive, just like the bad ones. Only they are good.

3. This is just a piece of the story- a boy finds a space ship, that is invisible, and needs him for some reason. This is a series of at least 2 books, and the only part I can remember is the space ship picks him up while he is on a school bus.

4. (This may not even be a science fiction series) a crime fighter who lives in some city- he has a group of allies, and his home base is disguised as a city block.

5. Something about a magician in a post-apocolyptic world, who lives in a tower? of dark crystal? and has to cross a glacier of some sort, to find something?- I know that's a great description, sorry!

Thanks for any help you can provide- when I was young, my dad took me to the library, and I just pulled them off the shelf and read them- only now I can't remember!

I know the first one, but can't remember the title. I have a feeling it was a two word title, possibly 'The ...' will think on it.

No 1. is Space Hostages by Nicholas Fisk. (Read it when I was a kid, my favourite of his was Trillions).

Some of the others might be Fisk as well, he wrote a lot of sci-fi for the 11-15 range.

Awesome, thanks! I shall pursure these leads.
Any ideas for #4- I seem to remember Zarkon, or something like that...

See this thread?
This threads winds me up.
This guy says he found out from Google, but does he put the answer in?
Rhetorical ... NO! He doesn't.
He was last seen on this site seven years ago.
Hope he enjoys hoarding that little bit of knowledge to himself; because he has ensured someone years later will now be really involved with solving the questions.
Grrrrr!

I tend to avoid Threads like this because they irritate me.

I can't resist the challenge! - even as a young lad "betcha can't" . "Betcha don't know" etc
I was always the one who stood trembling with indecision and my finger twitching towards the button marked DO NOT PRESS.
That's why I never ever applied to work in a nuke launch centre!
