Hi guys. Came across the forum via Google and thought 'surely someone there will know what that book was I read 20 years ago'! so here goes:
I seem to remember a guy with a ring that made him eternal. He also had the ability to go 'super-human', almost animal-like for short periods after which he invariably went into a coma.
I know it's not a lot to go on but any clues would be appreciated.
