Silly Author Person
Having way too much fun playing with the new toy. The ASUS Eee PC (aka, The Black Pearl) is turning out to be quite a little gem. It still has its odd quirks (that tiny screen), but its a good little workhorse for my needs.
I still go back and play with my 900c though.
The Department of Better Than Normal News...
The decision has come down from on high that they are going to leave my library alone. They were going to combine us with the new Senior Center, but apparently, the folks running the Senior Center were totally unaware of what a library is and what needs it has.
Though it may have been the treat of teens having access to the Senior Center's pool table and widescreen tv in the lounge area that might have given them second thoughts. That and they were present when I had one of my "noisier" preschool storytimes, and they were told that this was "normal."
They just had no clue...
But clueless or not, they finally decided that they would leave the library alone and just build their center as a separate place, which means we get to keep our space and our computers. And they get to keep their big screen tv and pool table out of the hands of the youth of America...
Or something like that.
In other news, I have been busily submitting stories to various anthologies, and I am getting some positive nibbles that I hope will soon blossom into sales.
And to that end, I have put another reprint story on Lulu.com titled Shadow Hart. This is a novella that first appeared in my electronic collection Keltora, Land of Myth from Embiid some years ago. Embiid has since closed its doors, and many of the stories they published of mine have gone on to be printed elsewhere.
So you can go to my Lulu.com store at Laura J. Underwood's Storefront - Lulu.com and click on the cover and go purchase a copy.
Oh, and if you are not sure you want to purchase it just yet, I am offering a download copy of the novella for free. You might also take note that I have lowered the price on my other Lulu.com products.
That's al the news for now. Must get back to work.
