Recently read the second skillgannon book, and was not impressed. Absolutly love David Gemmells books, but this felt like a let down. Has anyone felt the same about any of his books?

Quest For Lost Heroes is THE only DG book i started reading and gave up in the middle. I could have finished it, it wasnt bad just wasnt quality DG book.

Specially when i read Waylander just before it.

If I had to pick one I'd go for MorningStar, predictable!

The Swords of Night and Day is a good book, but I enjoyed it more when I reread it. The same as Quest for Lost Heroes, Connavar (or should I say Shannow ;)) I would strongly urge you to finish it. I understand what you have said about it, and it's not as strong as some of his other books, but it's still very good.

As for myself, i'm not sure. I've considered some books to be weak but when I reread them I really enjoy them. At the moment Last Sword of Power I considered to have a weak start and I had push through the first few chapters, but after that I began to enjoy it more.

Heh from Legend readers :)

Of course i will finish QFLH but not before Waylander 2.

I haven't yet found a DG book that I didn't enjoy. They can be a bit predictable when it comes to the general plot, (sometimes you can see him setting people up for a "famous last stand") but in general I find enough good plot twists in the books to keep me happy.

Ironhands Daughter is the only one I've given up on, Dark Moon and Morning Star were fairly weak too.

His series seem to be alot better than his stand alones except for maybe Echoes of the Great Song but then again that was my first DG book so I'm probably a little biased.

Probably Ironhand's Daughter from what I remember of it. Haven't read it in years and don't plan on doing so again.
