Cool...:)

Of course, I don't necessarily agree with some of his pictures, in my head some of the characters should be fatter or thinner, more sinister looking...but on the whole I like it

I only like a few of the amok site ones. Like Ladyfel, some(ok, most;)) of the characters look different in my head. The only ones I liked from the amok site were Theon, Ygritte, Jorah, Rodrick, Strong Belwas, and Chataya & Alayaya.

The Dabel brothers site looks pretty good as well...:)

I loved the kingsguard picture on the first link Lacedaemonian!
I'm guessing that's Aerys' kingsguard?
Anyone what to hazard a guess who's who?
I'll go first and take the easy one! Lord Gerold Hightower, Commander of the Kingsguard in the centre! :)

I'm not sure it is Aerys's Kingsguard - something about the bald guy with the mo says 'Boris Blount' to me, but I haven't read the books in awhile, so I'm probably way off in my memory of descriptions.

In the case of it being Aerys's Kingsguard, then I would say to the far right is Jaime Lannister, soon to be Kingslayer; to the far left Ser Arthur Dayne, Sword of the Morning; third from the left Ser Barristan Selmy (only cause he looks the oldest); maybe the Darry third from right and the Dornishman second from left - there was a Dornish prince, wasn't there? And that would make the baldy Ser Oswell Whent. But I could be entirely wrong.

Culhwch: you're correct that Boros Blount is bald, but I've seen this pic before and it is the Aerys-era KG IIRC.

From left to right, I'd think it is: Ser Arthur Dayne (since IIRC Dawn is a greatsword, and that looks to be the only greatsword), Prince Lewyn Martell (that Dornish prince you remember), Ser Jonothor Darry, Ser Gerold Hightower, Ser Barristan Selmy, Ser Oswell Whent, and Ser Jaime Lannister (the youngest looking).

I like Amok's site, if only for the sheer number of portraits. I like the visualization of the characters, even if the don't always gel with my own images of them. But to be honest, when I read books, I often don't have ANY picture in my head. The character is a name or an idea more than a picture. For that reason, having a site like this is interesting because it fills the blanks a bit.

I like the Amok site best of all. Most of the portraits actually conform to what I had previously envisioned. The first portraits I ever saw were the ones on the cards that go with the board game of GoT, and I found that many of them weren't all that great. I thought the Brienne of Tarth card was especially unkind- she looked like some sort of swamp hag. I like Amok's version much better.

Yeh, amok has some interesting portraits. I must say they aren't too far from how I imagined characters, except for Tyrion and Cersei. I pictured them differently.

Yeah, the Cersei one is better than others I have seen, though. As for Tyrion, for some reason I always picture him with black hair. I know he's blonde, but I just can't get that initial image out of my head.

I pictured him as more of a sandy blonde "mini me" you know from the movie.

I wonder exactly how tall Tyrion is. I mean, I know he's called the halfman, and obviously he's shorter than the norm, but some chapters make him seem a bit taller than your average umm, what's the most politically correct term? Dwarf/little person/midget...?

Yeh, I pictured him bigger than a midget but not much so. I pictured him with everything stunted except the torso and head.

Oh jeez. When you mentioned that it made me think. I am picturing a picture of me pre and post marriage. LOL. I mean that in a good way though. I think my wife takes more care of what I wear than I ever have.

Haha at first it sounded like you were saying your wife knocks you around a bit. But there's nothing like a woman to set a man straight, lol.

Wasn't that. It was just that after I got together (with my now wife) woman I figured I didn't need to impress anyone all the time and I slacked. However, once I was married, things changed. I am not only representing me.... I am representing the man my wife married LOL. Really though, she puts up with alot, the least I can do is .... whatever she says.:D
