Favreau fired from Iron Man sequel???

Does anyone know if the rumor that Iron Man director Jon favreua was fired from the sequel because the studio didn't want to pay his fee? Say it ain't so.

There was a joke going around that Favreau had beeen fired, and replaced by the guy who did Transformers. I think it was an April Fool's rumor.

That's good. I can't imagine anyone having done a better job on Iron Man (or even taking a chance on Downey Jr. Who knew?) then Favreau did.

Now if someone can just find a way to make a good Hulk movie I'd be overjoyed. LOL!

Well, if it is true, Marvel is insane. Isn't this the first super hero movie in a while to strike a decent balance between story and action? Yes, of course, the writers and actors have thier hands in as well, but isn't the directors job to establish pacing and vision. Favreau did an excellent job of giving the audiences what they haven't seen in a long while.
