*SPOILERS - DON'T READ IF YOU HAVN'T READ THE BOOK*

Just finished this book. Really enjoyed it and thought the twins were very likeable.

There were a few deaths in it that I didn't like and I was very dissapointed that they happened.

Firstly Suli who stuck by Borric's side no matter what was harshly struck down:eek: The kid only wanted to be his servent.

Secondly the Death of Baron Locklear. Really liked his character in the previous books aswell. I understand characters do have to die but I was very surprised he was one of them. (didn't expect any of the main group to go).
What annoyed me the most about his death was that he didn't even get the chance to go down with a fight, that would have made his death alot more worthy considering the role he plays.

On a good side - met Nakor and he's pretty much awesome:D

Overall a very good book apart from the two deaths i've mentioned.

Agree, Prince of the Blood is one of my favourites. I think it may be down to visiting another Midkemian culture mostly for me though; I found it interesting how Kesh differs so much from the Kingdom and how all Keshian royalty seem to hate everyone else!

i don't think i would like keshian living it just seemed so wierd to me

It did seem weird but i'd like to see all the flesh that hangs out (except the men, If I was leader i'd force them to cover up or die!) lol

Yeah, loved the book - it as Nakor in it!

However, i have to say i prefere books where characters can be killed much as I liked Locky I think his death was good for the series. Dramatic death scenes can make great reading but are very stereotypical in fantasy and Feist has managed to avoid that a couple of times.

Haha same:eek:! I read serpent first - picked up RoaMP on a whim one day - and was reading the 'prequels', thinking, when do they meet Nakor. Oh well, life is as such:cool:.

Man I have gotta stop reading threads that say *SPOILER WARNING*. *slaps head*

I preferred the original Prince of the Blood rather than the 'revised' version. The thing I liked most in it was the part that Raymond liked least ... the murder mystery in it solved by Nakor.

I've still got the original of that on my bookshelf ... I think I flicked through the 'revised' version once ... but didn't buy it. :)

Finished reading it a couple of days ago, I really liked it. I thought it was going to be bad but it exceeded my expectations.

You'll also like The Kings Bucaneer too if you liked Prince of the Blood.

The only part about Prince of the Blood I liked is that it has Nakor in there. I'm not really one for books where nothing really happens to drive the story forward and new characters solve the problems and then disappear into obscurity after that. Everything except Nakor's appearance was rather unimportant story-wise. My opinion.

Having read the books post to this one and then rereading BOTP again, there are lots of small things that I never really picked up on before that are actually really important to the overall plot of the Serpentwar. For example, because Erland gets 'friendly' with the future wife of the Emperor of Kesh, he actually saves thousands of lives because the many wars that would have happened never actually took place because of this trust between the two nations between the two series (the Kesh invasion at the end of SOABC is an exception of course)

On a more easy to spot note, its the first time we really get to see Banath's involvement in the whole plot with Pug's note to himself telling Nakor 'there is no magic'. I know we see it right from the start with Macros, but I assumed that Macros was just Sarig's agent, nothing more.
