Silly Author Person
Or close to it since the last time I was out here? I thought I posted something recently, but then realized it was over in the Aspiring Writers area where I was warning people that a certain anthology claiming to have SFWA connections was actually a scam...
At any rate, it has been a strange month. We had ups and downs and ups at work. They finally decided that we were not compatible with a senior center, so we are not being merged into a smaller space (our patrons are quite happy with that), but then there was the budget crisis to get through, and we were told that if the budget was not left as we asked, there would be branches closing--and that we would likely be one of them...
Job security? What the heck is that?
I sold one short story (and got five rejections in a row almost).
My youngest full sister (I say that because I have two half sisters, three step sisters and one adopted sister) has been diagnosed with MS, which according to the doctors she has had most of her life. My adopted sister (who qualifies as the youngest sister by age) is about to give birth to her first child. I seem to be developing osteoarthritis in my left elbow and my neck is stiff a lot, plus I seem to be fighting a LOT of sinus infections.
I am still rewriting Songs of the Magister (and now thinking of changing its title to Magic's Songs since I feel like the changes are reflecting that--Anwyn hears the song of magic a lot more than he realizes and it is creating some interesting situations...)
Of course, I have a short story collection titled Magic's Song: Tales of the Harper Mage that is supposed to be out of print now (but I do notice that it is still be offered for sale on the publisher's website...). But the title implies what I want it to imply for the novel, so I may go ahead and make the change.
Speaking of Out of Print stuff, my novel Hounds of Ardagh is out of print but there are apparently copies out there for sale (and I have a batch of them too).
Yard Dog Press is getting ready to combine a couple of my novellas and short story collections about the family in my first novel Ard Magister into a single trade paperback volume with an additional new novella, but since I don't officially have a contract on that, I am not at liberty to say more.
Other than the above, life goes on. I write therefore I am...a writer...
So I better get back to writing...
