Order of books - A Song Of Ice And Fire

Surprised you heard bad things. Book order is:

A Game of Thrones
A Clash of Kings
A Storm of Swords
A Feast for Crows
A Dance With Dragons (coming late this year or early next year probably)

Chronological order:

The Hedge Knight (1998)
The Sworn Sword (2003)
The Mystery Knight (forthcoming)

A Game of Thrones (1996)
A Clash of Kings (1998)
A Storm of Swords (2000)
A Feast for Crows (2005)
A Dance with Dragons (forthcoming)
The Winds of Winter (forthcoming)
A Dream of Spring (forthcoming)

The first three are short stories set 85-90 years before the main sequence, and are not necessary to enjoy the novels. But they are very good :)

Can the Ice Dragon be considered a prequel as well?

Really, it felt to me very much like ice and fire, how the ice was pushed back by the fire. I guess i just felt that against dany's fire dragons, the others would have ice dragons or so.
Also the fact that the girl was so influenced by the ice dragon, she seemed a bit like an other.

It may not be in the same world, but I bet there's some little hidden clues in there about what's going on!

* scratches head *

It was written 17 years before A Game of Thrones came out. I don't really see what connection there could be. The only connection between them is that one of the constellations in ASoIaF is called 'The Ice Dragon', which is a tip of the hat to that story (as the reference to the minor god Bakkalon the Pale Child in Braavos is to Dying of the Light).
