Being more of a fantasy girl, I need some help from you. I need to find say 15-20 classic Science Fiction novels, of which their premise or ideas have come true in the modern day, or near enough! Any advice and suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi:

If you look over at any of the anthology books of Arthur C. Clarke, you will find a lot of predictive fiction that indeed came true. Some of Ben Bova's early works have a number of items of technolgy that have also come to pass. His novel Millennium is about the development of SDI space based weapons and the consiquences of a runaway arms race in space. If you look at a hard science fiction author such as James P. Hogan, you also find good predictive SF. In Inherit the Stars, his first novel, he describes a device that we know today as a 3-D MRI that can scan aanything from a human being to a mummy to a dinosaur skull and give us a true image of the internal structure from any angle.

I happen to write Hard Science Fiction, so I really appricate these authors. One of the things I try and do myself is to incorproate as much real science as possible in my writing. Good luck with your quest!

Chris
