Hi, All,

Just a quick note to inform those living in or around London of a little get together that's taking place. Everyone's welcome for drinks, nibbles and nattering. Not sure who'll be there, but from recent conversations with the following, I know that Stephen Baxter, Jon Courtenay Grimwood and Ian Watson are all attending, so do come along! :)

On Wednesday 26th November 2008, from around 7pm

Ian,

I'm afraid I couldn't make it - but I'd be interested to hear how the evening went. I trust everyone had a good time?

Hi, Patrick,

Sorry you couldn't make it, but the evening went off very well, thanks.

Unfortunately, John Courtenay Grimwood who had intended to come was ill, but we still had a great turn out from authors, agents and publishers as well as fans.

The former included authors Stephen Baxter, Christopher Priest, Alastair Reynolds, Pat Cadigan, Ian Watson, Molly Brown and Amanda Hemingway. A buffet of nibbles, Fullers beers, great company, and the winner of the BSFA short story announced... What more could anyone ask for?

I intended to come Ian but did not make it, it would have been nice to have a chat with Molly again.

A shame, Billy -- it would have been great to see you; and, yes -- Molly was on fine form. Hopefully she might start attending a few more things this coming year, including some of the monthly BSFA get-togethers... By the way, have you seen that we've (as in the BSFA) got a commitment from Doris Lessing to be guest at one of these during 2009?

While for the first such, in January, the guest is some bloke called Michael Swanwick. Can't imagine he'll have anything interesting to say... ;)

Well Ian you should get a good turn out for Doris Lessing, I will see if I can make it to the February one. :)
