Oho! The Serpent has teeth!
Just a couple of points, CS:
I can't stand when someone puts something on the forum and gets corrected or told what to do or how to do it by someone else out there. I'm not pointing fingers, but its a personal annoyance of mine that people so freely do this all the time. Correction of spellings, punctuation or even what to post. Not to get personal with anyone (and using myself as an example in this point) no one on this forum knows me in real life enough to tell me what or how to do something and after knowing me I highly doubt they would. Besides that, the people that do that need to ******* chill the **** out. Stop being so god damn technical on a ******* internet post.
While sympathizing to a certain extent, this is the risk that you take every time you post on any forum, CS.
The only way not to be criticised is not to post, or to just say things like 'I agree', and 'Yes it is'. Growing a thicker skin and modifying your sense of humour are also necessary...
If i want to share something with specific people on a forum I enjoy thats NOT about a bunch of god damn paperback books, then I'll friggin do it. I don't eat, breathe, sleep , **** and **** about an IMAGINARY book series, sorry. I would go on and on about this but it would only include me swearing more and trading words with people who I am sure will only act smartassy because we are all behind a computer.
I'd point out here that Culhwch is a moderator here, and was merely doing his job, which was to point out that threads that are not relevant to a forum heading are liable to be moved to a more suitable one.
This not only keeps the individual author forums from being cluttered up by non-specific posts, but means that your own thread would reach a much wider audience. There are people here who never go anywhere near the GRRM forum, and would never read it otherwise, so this actually works to your benefit.
That being said, anyone who doesn't like what I post then there are two things I recommend.
1. Don't read them.
2. Kiss my ass.
Well, solution one is impractical, as you're ask people to make a decision without any evidence of liking/not liking your views..
The second one is just offensive, and I recommend you read the
Rules.
Having said all this, CS, please don't think that I'm getting at you in any way. All I'm saying, is that there's
always a critic, and there are better ways of dealing with it than sounding off.
