If this is in the wrong place, go ahead and move it where it needs to be. But I found this blog about the upcoming HBO production of ASOIAF, if anyone is interested. OK....well, nevermind then. I still have 9 more posts to go before I can post a link.

Let's try this.....winter-is-coming@blogspot.c o m

Last updated on the 31st of December and it looks like it was just created within the month and is getting a lot of hits. I've been looking for news on the series for quite awhile, as I'm sure many of you have, so I'm pleased to have found this site.

Cool link. Thanks. I think some members have kept up with that blog, but for some reason I've never visited it before. The insight into the script for the pilot episode was enlightening.

Beat me by a month or so. "So...you think you're better than me?" (Seinfeld reference there...:p)

Had it still been Festivus we'd have to do the "airing of grievences", but alas, the aluminum pole is already packed away.

Welocme btw :)

Found an article on HBO's production on Reuters linked on IMDB.

Anyway, the meat of the article is this...

But before the series can get on the air, the producers first have to slay a threat more formidable than any dragon: pilot competitors. HBO has 10 other pilots in contention for series orders. Though the network declines to project how many shows will receive an order since HBO doesn't need to fill a specific number of time periods as do broadcasters, at least six are expected to get a pickup.

Now, I have not found out what the other ten pilots are. Romance, fantasy, drama, action, comedy, or sitcom... I dunno.

I believe the Winter Is Coming blog had a summary of the 10 pilots in contention with Thrones a couple months ago:

Winter Is Coming - News and rumors about HBO's Game of Thrones

It's on the bottom of the page under Nov 19th 2008 or so.

A couple of them got picked up already, but to be honest none of the rest of them look that interesting. Although I suppose I am a LITTLE biased. :D

The only one I'm majorly interested in apart from AGoT is Treme, from the makers of The Wire and starring several castmembers from that show, which will hopefully make it awesome.
