Escape Velocity, the hard science fiction magazine edited by yours truly from Seattle and Geoff Nelder of Chester, Great Britain announces the release of Issue Four. EV is printed in A-4 size paperback, glossy color covers, Perfect Bound.

EV is produced by Adventure Books of Seattle. Right now we are in the process of re-editing all our books and moving them into mainstream distribution (trade wholesale) via Lightning Source/Ingram. Escape Velocity will follow later.

Our first release into the mainstream market is the classic survival novel by Marjorie Phleger, Pilot Down, Presumed Dead. We acquired the rights to this book in 2008. It had been out of print since Harper-Collins let it lapse back in 1991. We added 27 hi-res images and a new cover. The paperback version is out. The hardcover with dust jacket version will be out on April 5, 2009.

I've enjoyed the previous issues of Escape Velocity a lot: the mixture of fiction and fact gives it real variety while keeping it interesting across the board. I met Geoff last year at Newcon and he's a really nice guy. I'll be sure to have a look at the new issue.
