Just finished reading Villain.net Book 1 - Council of Evil - a fun read. Andy Briggs neatly blurs the lines between heroes and villains, giving us a supervillain in Jake Hunter, who is more of an anti-hero than a supervillain, while simultaneously painting the dark side of one of the 'heroes' opposing him.
I'm going to have to read Hero.com as well to get the story from the heroes' perspective now! (Can't think why I chose to read the bad guy viewpoint first ... mwah ha ha ha!) It's a clever concept, with lots to appeal to YA readers: lots of superpowers, guns, clever technology, secret societies, cross and double-crossing, Bond style supervillain hideouts, to say nothing of the monologuing bad guys and the spectacular fire-fights and chase scenes. Great stuff. I recommend it for a light read.
