Rides a Dread Legion: Stupid Ending (Spoilers!)

I just finished the latest Feist book. I know there's a couple threads I could write this, but oh well. Don't read this unless you already read the book or don't mind spoilers.

I guess I shouldn't have doubted it when Lims-Kragma said Pug was going to watch everyone he loves die before him. Nakor died in the last book, which was a funny and good character. I figured since there is only 5 books (4 books now) left that Lims-Kragma's words would be proven false and Pug and his family and friends would actually have a happy ending. Nope, end of this book Miranda was killed stupidly by a demon biting her neck and Caleb and his wife Marie were burned to death with most of the students on Sorcerers Isle.

I guess all that needs to be done is for Magnus to be killed and then Pug can die. I was going to say maybe the family reunites on the other side, but it's suppose to be you're reborn on the wheel or whatever. But the books sure are getting depressing. Are we suppose to read them now only to find out which way they all die?

Hmm, probably vented too much steam and wasn't completely clear (I still wish I could edit posts). It was still a really good book, it's just the ending I found quite annoying.

You know I'm not sure Magnus will die before Pug. Hasn't there been some reference of him inheriting his father's mantle?

Banath worked through Nakor, the trickster god may have decided to cheat Lims-Kragma.

True, Magnus might outlive Pug. But at least Tomas will probably be dead before Pug. Otherwise there's not really anyone left besides Magnus and Tomas that he loves. So not many people need to die before he kicks the bucket. I sure hope Feist gives it a good ending. Or even an open ending so he could write more books in the future if he wants to. Though with fantasy rarely are people ever fully gone. Some BS can be pulled out of a hat to bring anyone back.

Ther are also Tad zane and jommy because they are also part of pugs family. I also just relized that there is a lot of adoption in Fiests books.

Sorry, been some time since I last read Feist (Serpentwar series was the last one). I knew this had spoilers, it's okay. But Nakor died?? :'(

What happened to Tad, Zane and Jommy in the last book? I'm pretty sure only Jommy got a mention.

See, me, I hated Miranda. Spoilt ignorant, angry, always needs to be better than anyone and in control. She died several books too late.

Nakor on t'other hand was Feists only really interesting character and is sorely missed. The on certainty in life is death, why try to avoid that? It keeps the books interesting and much more life like.

I completely disagree with you on the Miranda front Woody, I grew fond of her in the later books, I agree, however, that she was extremely arrogant during the Serpentwar and I found this side to her unattractive.

Tad is the only one not to get a mention; he was probably off somewhere doing stuff only Ray knows about, and he's not telling. Zane helps that warrior-priest woman (name aludes me, sorry!) during one of those many times she gets completely beaten up and lives, almost Amos Trask like. Jommy helps a bit I seem to remember later on in the book
