Forgotten book/series

Its main character is a outsider who i think is a kind of gunslinger...Its in a kind of rural old-time feeling world, that turns out to be VERY post-apocalyptic.... They have guns, but no technology, mostly leftovers from a time long past...
************SPOILER ALERT*****************
Anyways towards the end of the series it turns out that the main character is from before the apocalypse along with a few others who were on a plane when the apocalypse happened... In one of the books they are back in the pre-apocalyptic time, trying to get ready for the apocalypse. It also turns out the big bad guy in the series is actually the main male character aswell...

Sry I know this is a terrible description but is ANYONE can even help me remember maybe a character name or even better Author or book title... PLEASE!!!!

Well at first I thought it was The Gunslinger the first book in Stephen King's excellent Dark Tower but reading your spoiler alert I'd say its not

That sounds very like the Jon Shannow books of David Gemmell. If so I recommend them. Jon Shannow is also known as the Jerusalem man.
